The developer conference will be held virtually from May 25 through May 27.

Microsoft has opened registration for its Build 2021 developer conference. Just like last year, the company will hold this year’s Build virtually as well. It is scheduled to take place from May 25 through May 27.

Microsoft’s Build Conference Is Aimed at Developers and Students

Microsoft says that student or experienced app developers should attend Build 2021 as it will allow them to “gain action-ready skills” and get direct guidance from Microsoft engineers.

Microsoft’s Build conference usually focuses on the developer side of things. However, this time around, Microsoft could make some consumer-facing announcements, including the next generation of Windows.

Apart from keynotes, Microsoft will be holding Breakout sessions, one-on-one consultations, sessions hosted by experts in various fields like cloud, desktop, and web development, and more. The speakers at Build 2021 include Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella; Kayla Cinnamon, Program Manager; Kevin Scott, CTO, and more.

To reach a wider audience, Microsoft will be offering human audio translations in French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish languages. This will be in addition to 28 AI closed captioning languages.

Since this year’s Build is also being held virtually, Microsoft is not charging any registration fees. Up until 2019, the company charged developers $2,395 as registration fees for its developer event.

If you want to access all the various sessions and keynotes that Microsoft will be hosting as a part of its developer conference, you should register for the event as soon as possible. Without registration, you won’t have access to interactive sessions like the Learning Zone and Connection Zone, one-to-one consultations with experts, and more.

You can register for Microsoft Build 2021 at the Build’s website.

This Year’s Microsoft Build Conference Could Have Some Surprises

Microsoft is working on a huge visual revamp of Windows 10, codenamed Sun Valley. First tidbits about the Windows 10 Sun Valley update leaked in October 2020. After this, Microsoft slowly rolled out Sun Valley design-focused changes for the Windows 10 clock and alarm apps.

Even if Microsoft does announce a major visual overhaul of Windows 10 at Build 2021, its public release should still take a few months. Microsoft is also expected to announce a revamped new app store for Windows 10 at the event, especially after it increased the amount of money game developers will get from every sale through the store.

Microsoft could have a few other surprises up its sleeve for its Build 2021 conference. For that, we will have to tune into the conference later this month.
